Step by Step Guide to Merge Outlook PST Files

STEP 1: First, open PST Merge software by following given instructions: Go to Start menu >> Programs >> PST Merge >> PST Merge



STEP 2: Browse Outlook PST files which have to merge into a single PST file. To choose PST files, click on Add File or Add Folder button from the software panel.



STEP 3: In order to execute the merge process further, the software provides three different options:

  • Join: This option will merge multiples PST files into a single PST file and create a separate folder for each PST file.
  • Merge: This option seems quite similar to the join option and works probably same, but does not create a specific folder for each PST file. Merge option directly moves data of PST files into a PST.
  • Merge Contacts: Are you looking to merge contacts of various Outlook PST files into a single PST, then enable this checkbox and see the results.



STEP 4: Select the required one after browsing PST files. A user can also remove the unwanted items of PST files using Remove Duplicates & Exclude Deleted Items. Click on "Browse" button and software will ask you to choose the location to save the merged PST file.

Click on browse


STEP 5: Hit on Merge PST files button to begin the execution.



STEP 6: Once you click on the Merge PST Files button, the tool starts combing Outlook data files. The software's UI tells about the entire process and also demonstrates the ongoing process.



STEP 7: Soon after completion of process, software will prompt a notification message about its successful processing. Hit on Ok button.



STEP 8: At the end, PST Merge Software also endows location & name of the merged PST file.
